Fear of Failure

Have you ever been so scared to make a mistake, that you didn’t try at all?

This was me for the majority of my life. Being free from the fear of failure is so fresh and new to me. It wasn’t until just a few months ago that I finally understood the reality of the presence of the fear of failure in my life. It has previously prevented me from doing so many things. Things I enjoy. Things that I want to learn. It prevented me from even discovering new things about myself & about God. Fear of failure will stop you from growing.

The Lord has so patiently been helping me along through this. It’s so refreshing to see things from HIS perspective and to be free… free to fail even. I purposed in my heart that I would no longer be afraid to make a mistake. Since then… I’ve started blogging just about every week, along with several other things I wanted to do but never did. Being free from the fear of failure also helps you in the mundane routine of life. I have had the courage (thank you Jesus) to do things I normally wouldn’t do in my day to day life. It’s so liberating. Today, I’m very thankful to be free from the fear of failure. & with that being said – I want to encourage anyone that is paralyzed by this type of fear. You don’t have to be afraid to make a mistake. I promise that it’s not the end of the world when you do. These last few months of doing things that I haven’t done before… I’ve failed. Just because I’m free from the FEAR of failure, doesn’t mean I haven’t made any mistakes. However, attempting new things and failing feels a whole lot better than not attempting anything at all.

Feelings aside…. how can I walk by faith, if I’m not willing to trust God, even in the mess of mistakes?

If you have been living (or not living much at all) in a place of the fear of failure, I encourage you to take it to The Lord today. Ask Him to forgive you for agreeing with the fear of failure and ask Him to set you free from this fear. He will bring freedom. That’s His heart.

Now, what are some new things you can do that you haven’t attempted in the past?

Embrace the mistake & let God embrace you in your mistakes.

Love y’all a lot.

Please Don’t Kill Me // Can you hear me?

When the day falls asleep,

Will you remember me?

I was taken away to be with my Creator.

Never even given a full chance to live.

Aborted just because I was labeled an inconvenience.

All in the name of convenience.

As you ended my life in the womb,

I was screaming.

In deep pain, but you couldn’t hear me.

You weren’t even listening.

Mommy, you don’t know it, but I was going to be a pro-football player.

Daddy, you don’t know it, but I would have gone on to create the cure for a deadly disease.

You are passing laws – laws that allowed you and the doctor to murder me.

I am with my Creator now. He’s a Good Daddy. I just wished you would’ve given me a chance to live to my fullest potential.

The effects that aborting me can have on you and your nation is exponential.

Please don’t kill me.

When the day falls asleep,

Will you remember me?

Comparison // Identity

Freed from the shackles of comparison.

No longer striving to run another’s race.

Desires of being prettier, skinnier, richer, or more well known –

Dismantled as soon as I felt Your embrace.

His eyes of fire and jealous love consumed the wish to be someone else.

Joyfully accepting that He created me to just be myself.

His songs of love liberated me to walk in true freedom.

The enemy’s lies exposed – comparison defeated.

Don’t you know, child of God that there’s never been another you before?

You were not created to be another him or her.

You were crafted and sewn together to reflect an attribute of The Father.

Do not waste time trying to be another one of God’s designs.

You are beautiful. You are strong. You are loved. You are seen.

Look to the One who created you and let Him reveal to you your true identity.
